The Law Offices of Qadeer & Sheikh often assists clients who need to file Notice of Motions, Notice of Cross-Motions or Orders to Show Cause (an emergency motion). Filing a motion means that you are asking the court to order something. It can mean you are requesting a change to something that the court had previously ordered, asking for something new, or even asking for enforcement of an agreement or court order.
It can also be an initial motion for establishing custody for the first time or support for the first time. If you have filed a divorce case, you also have the right to file a motion to get support or parenting time during your divorce case. These are called Pendente Lite motions, which refer to the need to keep the “status quo” (keeping things the same). Every case is unique and based on the facts of your situation, we can determine how best to guide you.
